Please read these terms carefully before using Ask Bible. By downloading, accessing, or using the app, you agree to these terms.
Ask Bible is designed as an on-device personal study companion for exploring and reflecting upon Sacred Scripture using the historic Catholic Douay-Rheims Bible (1582 Douay / 1609 Rheims text, including deuterocanonical books).
The software pairs a local retrieval engine with an on-device large language model (LLM) to assist readers in locating verses and reading citations within their biblical context.
Ask Bible is a computational software program, not a human priest, pastoral counselor, ecclesiastical authority, confessor, therapist, doctor, or legal advisor.
The biblical text bundled in Ask Bible is the Original Douay-Rheims Bible (1582/1609), dedicated to the public domain (Creative Commons CC0 1.0 Universal).
Source text provided via the open repository at janvier-s/original-douay-rheims.
Ask Bible is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
To the fullest extent permissible by law, the developers and contributors of Ask Bible disclaim all liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from the use or inability to use this software.
We reserve the right to amend these Terms of Service at any time. Continued use of Ask Bible after amendments indicates acceptance of the modified terms.
